The fiscal deficit for the first two months of the current fiscal FY19 stood at 55.3% or Rs 3.455 lakh crore of the budgeted target of Rs 6.243 lakh crore.The figures were released by the finance ministry today.Total receipts for the two months of April-May was recorded at Rs 1.27 lakh crore while the total expenditure stood at 4.73 lakh crore.Out of the total receipts, the net tax revenue came in at 1.02 lakh crore while the non-tax revenue was rs 24,049 crore and Rs 1,004 crore of non-debt capital receipts.Receipts from disinvestment for the month of April and May stood at Rs 434 crore.The government had revised the fiscal deficit target for FY19 at 3.3 per cent. It had met its FY18 fiscal deficit target of 3.5 per cent.
