Maruti Suzuki India today announced a price hike across its models owing to increase in input costs and adverse foreign exchange rates. As per information available, the company has hiked prices of its vehicles by up to Rs 6,100 with immediate effect. This means that the new prices are effective from today itself. Maruti Suzuki currently sells about 11 models including Alto, Wagon R, Eeco, Swift, Dzire, Brezza, Ignis, Ciaz, Baleno and S-cross. While the entry level Alto 800 is priced at Rs 2.51 lakh, the mid-sized sedan Ciaz tagged at Rs 11.51 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).Other companies such as Mahindra & Mahindra and Tata Motors have also announced price hikes from August citing rising input costs.
