India's wholesale price inflation hit a 4-year high at 5.77%, up sharply from 4.43% in May.WPI was at 0.90% in the same month a year ago.The WPI numbers came in way higher than estimates pegged at 4.93%. In the month of May, WPI at 4.43 had breached a 15-month high. It came on the back of rise in prices of fuel, food and manufactured products.On a monthly basis, wholesale prices increased by 1.1 percent, compared to a 0.9 percent rise in May.The index for primary articles rose by 2.0 per cent. The rise was 3.0 per cent for the fuel and power basket. In manufactured products, inflation was up by 0.4 per cent.
